Job Description:
Where you fit in
The Field Telecoms Technical Specialist Projects will work within the Prelude Operations Technical Team to Design, Plan and safely execute a variety of Field Telecoms Projects on the Prelude offshore facility.
What’s the role?
On a day-to-day basis, you will be:
Responsible as a technical and business process focal point for the execution of Field Telecoms Projects.
Responsible to contribute to and influence design of Field Telecoms Systems.
Responsible to create, update, and mark up Telecom’s control Documents and drawings for Telecoms Projects
Attend offshore facilities to perform, supervise, and facilitate physical execution of Field Telecoms projects.
Work safely in an Offshore Oil and Gas environment understanding hazardous area consideration as well as permit and isolation creation and ownership.
Be able to frame project scopes and document requirements to set projects up for success.
Responsible for Management of Change (MoC) process for all Telecomms systems; ensure proper process is followed, relevant approvals are received and update drawings and technical documents.
Provide input and requirements (functional and technical) for future projects and system upgrades.
Responsible to ensure planning, preparation, execution, and completion is performed safely and diligently in line with SDA process and procedures.
Responsible for compliance to local/national/international regulations and licenses.
Responsible for compliance to company local and global Telecom standards (DEP).
Responsible for planning and execution of FT project and compliance with Project Management Framework.
What we need from you
We are keen to speak to professionals with the following:
Substantial Field Telecomms experience. Degree/Diploma in Communications and Electronics system or Equivalent trade qualification with extensive experience.
Experience in the support and implementation of Business and Safety Critical FT systems on an operating plant (preferably in Oil and gas industry) including Digital and analogue Voice radios, RADAR systems, Public Address and General Alarm systems, Closed Circuit TV, VSAT systems.
An in depth understanding of the Run and maintain practices, Performance Standards, Safety Critical Equipment and Maintenance Strategies. Experience with IT and Business Risk Management
Demonstrated understanding of the regulatory obligations for upstream oil and gas facilities including specific requirements for communications systems. (NOPSEMA, SOLAS, ACMA)
Demonstrated understanding of the use of Computer based Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Strong interpersonal skills, which are critical and required to develop the professional respect essential for successful performance.
Fluent in English. Ability to manage relations with peers and senior managers effectively in various organizations.
Ability and willingness to travel and work at offshore production facility.
